Philly Group Makes The Cut For President Obama’s Summer Playlist

For the past two years, the White House has teamed up with Spotify to bring us the hottest hits of Summer, according to the 44th President. This year President Obama’s summer playlist includes Philly favorite, Floetry, known for their soulful sounds as well as adopting Philadelphia as their second home.

The playlist is actually split into two parts: Daytime and Nighttime. The Daytime list heats things up with songs from Jay Z, Aloe Blacc, Nina Simone, the Beach Boys and Charles Mingus, while the nighttime playlist cools things down with tunes from D’Angelo, Mary J. Blige, Billie Holiday, Janet Jackson and Floetry . With its Latin rhythms, Indie Rock , Hip Hop and R&B sounds, there is something for everyone on this Presidential playlist.

Come January, President Obama will be looking for a new job, could DJ be on his list for possible career changes? Philly had a rapping Mayor, why not a former President that’s a DJ?
