Remember all those times you goofed off in art class as a kid. Whether you were spreading Elmer’s Glue on your hand to peel off or creating figurines with Silly Putty, you didn’t realize that adults paid top dollar for art classes while we squandered them away. Well now’s your chance to redeem yourself because Paradigm Art Gallery (746 South St.) has announced Free Art Saturdays.
So what exactly are you getting for Free 99? Well for starters, the first installment of the Free Saturday Art series will teach attendees the art of chalk paint lettering. You’ll get a hands on class being taught by lettering pro Kelly Franklin. Each student will be able to create designs on a 6″x6″ woodblock. To make this sweet deal even sweeter all supplies will be included.
Okay so maybe chalk lettering isn’t your cup of tea. No sweat. Paradigm is also offering a free weaving class. Participants will be able to create a unique weaving on a 6″x6″ block under the instruction of weaving master, Stefanie Fuoco. As with the chalk lettering classes, all supplies will be provided my Paradigm.
How can you pass up free classes with no need to buy supplies. This is a great opportunity to do something different on a date or a fun group outing with friends. What’s even more cool about this experience is that all work created in the free art classes will be exhibited in Paradigm’s annual Community Arts Project Exhibition, opening Friday, February 27th and will be sold for $20 each. 100% of funds will support our free art class programming. The exact day and time and reservation links of each class is below.
