Loco Pez is Opening in Graduate Hospital
You know that taco spot in Fishtown that turned into a Philly staple almost overnight? The one with the cool atmosphere, cheap tacos and good drinks. Yes, we’re talking Loco Pez. Well it looks like this Cali food truck inspired joint is heading west. Well not entirely west more like west of Center City.
Loco Pez is opening in Graduate Hospital this summer. Taking over the landmark bar Twi-Lite Lounge at 20th & Bainbridge, owner Joe Beckham who transformed a former dive bar in Fishtown looks to work his magic once again. Reportedly inspired by the taco trucks in Cali, Joe studied the Cali taco culture and brought it back home to Philly. Loco Pez which opened as a tight space when the crowds started to pour in had to expand their operation to keep up with the demand. Learning from this lesson Joe Beckham is already looking to transform the Twi-Lite Lounge from a one story dive bar into a two-story taco joint.
Slated to open next summer, no official date has been set. However, Graduate Hospital residents should be rejoicing that they will no longer have to trek across town and pray for parking in Fishtown. We will update as soon as we get more news on the progress.
