Earlier this week, Ed Sheeran released his much anticipated sophomore album ‘x’ (Multiply). The English pop star shines with his mellowed out, sensitive lyrics on ‘x’. Throughout the album he blends acoustic guitar with a little bit of soul and emotion, seamlessly. This 16 track album is worthy of being included in your rotation to play while spending time with your significant other.
Sheeran shows he’s more than just a Top 40 radio star. Any praise and accolades received for this project will be very much deserved. No gimmicks, Sheeran relies on his artistry to carry the load on ‘x’. This album feels genuine and real, with a good variety of style and flavor to keep thing interesting throughout.
There is not much to dislike about this album. You won’t find any club anthems here; just a solid album constructed from personal reflection, love, and heart break.
