East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) is revving up for the 12th Annual Car Show and Street Festival on Sunday, July 30, 2017, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, on EPA between Broad and Dickinson streets.  Over 140 muscle, classic, antique, custom and show cars, trucks and motorcycles will line the Avenue, with street vendors, rack sales, kids’ activities, live music and the Bang! Boom! CRAFT! Show in between.  Wine and dine among the cars as award-winning restaurants and food trucks serve specially priced street food and summertime drinks. Over 140 muscle, classic, antique, custom and show cars, trucks and motorcycles will line the five blocks between Broad and Dickinson streets. The fee for participating cars is $20 per vehicle. Registration will take place at Broad and EPA between 8:00am and 12:00pm. Space is available on a first come, first served basis. Trophies will be awarded in dozens of categories, including: Top 50, Best Stock, Best Modified, Best Engine, Best Paint, Best 50’s Custom, Best Street Rod, Best Low Rider, Best Truck, Best Motorcycle, and Best of Show Car and Motorcycle.

“The 12th Annual Car Show and Street Festival is back and bigger than ever with more space for cars, a new family fun area at the Gateway and more street food specials from our restaurants,” said EPABID Executive Director Pam Zenzola.  “Families from around the tri-state area flock to the East Passyunk to cruise the cars, enjoy live music on every block and taste authentic South Philly cooking. We are thrilled to bring back South Philly’s largest annual summer tradition!”

Grab some street grub and summer drinks from visiting food trucks plus for the first time $5 deals at many of East Passyunk’s award-winning restaurants! Look for the balloons to find places offering the $5 specials. The early look at the menus is below:

* Adobe Cafe – $5 dollar nachos, $5 burritos, $5 Mexican fries, $5 dollar margaritas, $5 city wide
* B2 – $5 special for our Summer new menu: bubble tea, fruit tea, and fruit salad
* Bing Bing Dim Dum – $5 Cheesesteak Bao Buns, $8 Sake Sangria and $5 Shiner Ruby Redbird (beer)
* Birra – $5 cheese pizza slices
* Black & Brew – $5 draft lattes and Black & Tans – all served cold
* Bottle Shop – Beer Tub & Frozen Strawberry Rose Wine POPsicles

* POPE – $5 food special- two hot dogs and fries, $5 drink special – Jameson Black Barrel and Cola
* Punk Burger – $5 vegan pulled portobello slider with pulled portobello, punk sauce and vegan coke slaw, $5 Beef Caprese slider with beef, fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil and balsamic glaze, $5 Cheeseburger slider with beef and American cheese
* South Philly Bar and Grill – $5 Golden Monkey, $5 doubles IPA and $5 bar bites
* Townsend – Porchetta sandwich and a TBD veggie option
* Vin Cafe – Single wine taste

Live music will keep things moving and grooving as diners enjoy the cars and food selections. All music is outdoors unless otherwise noted. The line-up is as follows:

11:00am to 12:30pm – The Drive In’s (Parking lot on 1600 Block)
11:30am to 1:00pm – Blue Pharaohs (EPA and Juniper)
12:00pm to 3:00pm – Joey Joy (Stogie Joe’s)
1:00pm to 2:30pm – Dj Lindsay Marie (Singing Fountain)
1:00pm to 2:30pm – DJ Christopher DJ (Gateway at Broad Street)
2:00pm to 3:30pm – Brown Sugar (Parking lot on 1600 Block)
2:00pm to 3:30pm – Las Palabras (EPA and Juniper)
3:00pm to 7:00pm – Ralphie Head (Stogie Joe’s)

* Car-themed coloring sheets Noon to 4:00pm

For participating cars, registration is ‘day of’ only from 8am to 12pm in front of the parking lot at 1636 EPA. All cars must enter at the Broad Street entrance to EPA between 8am and NOON. Cars will not be allowed entrance from side streets and cars who want to park together must arrive together, we cannot save spots. The 12th Annual Car Show and Street Festival is hosted by the Northeast Muscle Car Club and presented by East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District.  Sponsors include Barcelona Wine Bar, Passyunk Avenue Revitalization Corporation, Pistola’s Del Sur, Samuels and Son Seafood, South Philly Review, Verizon Fios and Vybe Urgent Care.  Free to attend and $20 for cars.

Parking for the Car Show is located at Parkway at Constitution Health Plaza at 1485 McKean (between Broad and 15th street). It is open 24 hours and only cost $13 for 12 hours of parking. It is only a four minute walk from the parking lot to the Gateway and the start of the car show.
