Sometimes making choices as a foodie can be tough.  You may be in the mood for some Asian cuisine but at the same time you could really go for some banging tacos.  Well Coreanos Philly located in the all-new Chinatown Square (1016-18 Race St.) said the hell with the choices, let’s put them together.  The result is an amazing spectrum of spices and flavors that are like no other.

coreanos-philly4We’re talking Asian fused tacos, carnitas, half rotisserie chicken dinners, rice bowls and much much more.  Owner Tim Lu of Crabby Cafe and Token is the brainchild behind this unique stand.  Poised to be one of several eateries within Chinatown Square to offer up late night food options along with the highly popular Halal Guys and I-CE-NY. This spot will bank off patrons looking for their taco fixes.

Upon my visit I was able to try an assortment of menu options including the roast chicken tacos.  These tacos came with pulled rotisserie chicken, Spanish rice, red chili salsa, & kimchi.  Pretty much everything you crave when you’re hungry.  As for the hardy dishes the rotisserie 1/2 chicken was incredible.  The chicken is marinated in soy & lime for a zesty taste. This dish comes with Spanish rice, kimchi, red chili salsa and corn tortillas to make you’re own tacos.  The rice bowls here are “create-your-own” and come with options such as white or Spanish rice, choice of sauces and meats.  Overall there is plenty of options to choose from.

What to Look Forward To

Just above Coreanos and the many booths that occupy Chinatown Square, plans are in the works to create a new karaoke bar.   The yet-to-be named karaoke spot is also scheduled to have late night hours.  Tim Lu and company anticipate a boom from hungry patrons that will be intoxicated while singing their hearts out to Bon Jovi and Queen.  Coreanos will be offering quick delivery to party goers above.

As for now, if you happen to catch yourself within the booming Chinatown restaurant scene and are looking for a quick yet tasty bite to eat, we definitely recommend this spot as a must try.
