Think of it kind of like a BJ’s or Sam’s Club but for clothes. That’s how the brand spanking new Century 21 store in center city will operate until the grand opening this coming Tuesday. The store which is located in the Gallery Mall where the old Strawbridge & Clothier once operated, has opened its doors for the weekend. However, only “C21” members are allowed to peruse the aisles.
If you feel this news is holding you back from some quality retail therapy, don’t panic. Individuals can sign up for a C21 membership at the door. The two-story, 100,000 sq. foot department store giant will be open all weekend but will be closed Monday in preparation for the grand opening. The official ribbon cutting ceremony is slated for Tuesday Oct. 28th at 11 am.
Once the store is officially open to the public the normal operating hours will be Monday-Friday 8 am – 8 pm, Saturday 10 am – 8 pm, and Sunday 11 am to 6 pm. Many are hoping that the highly anticipated department store will spark a renaissance for the ailing Gallery Mall. Other projects such as new stores as well as remodeling are also in the works. We will keep you updated as more stories develop.
