Best Bars in Philly With Arcade Games -2018 Edition!

Okay we’re doing a little up-date since our last list.  Although the world of gaming has really taken off in recent years, Philly’s options when it comes to gaming at bars is not that expansive.  With that being said, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite bars that offer arcade games and interactive games.  Oh and our disclaimer is that we purposely left off Dave & Busters (they get enough publicity).  With that being said, if you’re looking for a chill night to get your gaming on with some brews, here are our top choices!

Barcade

1114 Frankford Ave

Perhaps the the most popular spot in time when it comes to gaming, Barcade features some classics such as Contra, Donkey Kong, Galaga and about 35+ more games.  Aside from the awesome arcade game selections, this spot as a great beer selection as well.

Field House

1150 Filbert St.

One of our favorite bars in the city, we’ve spotlighted this place for several different reasons but this is the first time for gaming.  Field House house a cool arcade section towards the back of the bar with plenty of interactive sports games.

U-Bahn

1320 Chestnut St

The sister restaurant to Brü Craft & Wurst this spot is an underground spot with super chill vibes.  Live bands create the ultimate chill ambiance.  The owner Teddy Sourias was an avid gamer as a kid and wanted to bring that element of fun to his bar.  Right now the gaming selection is solid but they plan on adding more classics soon so stay tuned.

North Bowl

909 N 2nd St.

This Fishtown gem has been a go-to spot for locals for quite some time.  Although this spot focuses on bowling, the upstairs lounge area offers some cool gaming options as well as pool tables.  A perfect spot to take a date and chill, North Bowl is an all-around great spot for drinks and fun.

South Bowl

19 E. Oregon Ave.

The sister spot to North Bowl, South Bowl offers the same cool and fun atmosphere as North Bowl with a few tweaks.  Aside from the arcade lounge South Bowl also offers a a rooftop deck to chill out in the warm weather months in-between games.

Keystone Mini-Golf

161 Cecil B. Moore Ave

Keystone Mini Golf

Okay so this isn’t a bar but it is BYOB so it’s definitely earned a spot on our list.  Enjoy a round of hipster mini-golf which features indoor and outdoor holes.  However, for gamers this spot feels like one of those small arcades you went to as a kid with a nice mix of both arcade games, skeeball and air hockey.  Definitely a must check out spot.

Dave & Busters

325 N Christopher Columbus Blvd

No real introduction on explanation needed for this place. Dave & Busters earns a spot on our best Philly bars with an arcade for its massive gaming options and other entertainment options.  It goes without saying, when you think of drinks and games this is usually the first spot to pop in your head.

Garage

1231-1233 E Passyunk Ave

Not so much arcade as it is a skeeball spot.  So if you don’t mind passing up on Double Dragon and testing your skeeball skills this is a great places to check out.  The food selection is great as they rotate their vendors and the beer selection is pretty outstanding.  This is a quintessential Philly bar experience.

Garage Fishtown

100 E. Girardgarage north fishtown

Just like with Garage in South Philly, the Fishtown location offers classic Skee ball games to test your skills in-between shots and beers.  The venue although is specious can get a pretty packed especially on weekends so you may want to try to get in early.

Mad Rex

1000 Frankford Ave.

Okay so this place doesn’t have traditional arcade games but it does have a dope ass VR lounge.  I thought it would be a nice change if pace to be able to sit back, place virtual reality games, and crush a few drinks in the process. Definitely a unique experience you have to try out.

Revolution Bowling

1009 Canal St.

Another bowling venue makes our list as Revolution’s Bowling comes through with a nice selection of classic arcade games. Revolution, which actually sits above Mad Rex is a sprawling venue that you can spend all day in.  Perfect for date nights or just kicking back with your friends.
