Yoga with Elmo

Dec. 10th | 11 am – 11:30 am | The Franklin Institute

Your child can learn the importance of staying healthy in both body and mind at The Franklin Institute this fall! A certified Yoga instructor leads a kid-friendly yoga session together with  everyone’s favorite Sesame Street  character, Elmo! As part of The Franklin Institute’s new exhibit, Sesame Street Presents: The Body, Elmo makes special daily appearances at the museum. Wednesdays this fall, Elmo joins in to help young learners discover how to breathe and focus while stretching and moving.

 

East Passyunk Tree Lighting Party

Dec. 10th | 5-7 pm | East Passyunk  Ave. Business District

Celebrate the annual lighting of the Christmas Tree above the Singing Fountain with carolers, Santa Claus, and free seasonal treats from Avenue restaurants on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm. After the ceremonies, “Deck the Ave” and enjoy a musical procession down East Passyunk, extended shopping hours, specials, sales, giveaways and other festive surprises.

 

Q102 Jingle Ball

The star-studded lineup for the Q102’s annual holiday concert, Q102 Jingle Ball 2014, was unveiled for its stop at Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday, December 10. Arian Grande, Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea, OneRepublic, Meghan Trainor, Jessie J, Rixton, Kiesza, Rita Ora, Shawn Mendes and special guest host Nick Jonas will be featured during the music event.

 

Sleepover Program 40 Winks with the Sphinx

Dec. 12th-13th | 5:30 pm -9 am | University of Penn. Museum of Archaeology and Athropology

40 Winks with the Sphinx The Penn Museum’s popular sleepover program, geared to ages 6 to 12 and their families or chaperones, invites guests to an overnight “expedition” of the Museum. The night’s activities take intrepid explorers on a journey through time and across continents, with hands-on games, crafts, and more! A scavenger hunt and a flashlight expedition through the galleries offer new ways to connect with the ancient artifacts awaiting discovery.
