5 Easy Ways To Save Money For Traveling

Summer is just around the corner and the biggest excuse people have as to why they don’t travel is because they don’t have enough money to do so.

Of course you need money to be able to travel; however, you don’t need as much as you think you do. For many people the idea of long term travel is a dream but it can be achieved with dedication and sacrifice. You don’t have to be rich or win the lottery to travel. It takes determination and focus to make this dream to become a reality – no one said it was going to be easy but it’s worth it. People now a days are finding creative ways to earn and start saving for their vacation. Here are some ways you can start saving for your next trip starting today.
 

Start Tracking Your Money

Ask yourself, “What can I do to start cutting my expense and start saving?” Really think about where to cut your money. For example: Did you just spend a good portion of your money at the bar this weekend? If so start buying alcohol at the store and pre-game or invite friends over. The bar is always going to be there when you get back home but your opportunity to travel may not.
 

Open A Travel Account

Open up an account strictly for your travel expense. View this account as an extra bill. For example make payments into your account biweekly. Every month set aside a time when you schedule your bills and schedule to pay your travel account. This will help you save your money by forcing yourself to do so.

Get A Second Job

Pick up another job and use that money to save for vacation. Have that extra income and put in your travel account. It may suck at the moment because you are not only sacrificing your money but also your time but it’s worth it when your laying out on the beach enjoying a cocktail while feeling the warm sun and the cool ocean breeze. Remember the more you work now, the more fun you will have later.
 

Sell Your Belongings

If you don’t use it then you don’t need it. You may think you need those shoes, clothes and home goods laying around collecting dust but in reality you don’t. Have a garage sale and sell those items for an extra bit of cash. Once you get the money for those items, that same day or the next day add it to your travel account. A little extra traveling cash will help you save money much faster.
 

Manage Your Debt

If you have student loans and other payments, think about paying these bills months in advance. By doing so you are giving yourself a stress free travel experience. You can also set up automatic payments into your account so you’re not worried about when you have to pay for it. No need to think about bills while on the road.

Remember every penny save lets you travel more. You biggest motivation to save is when your able to say to yourself, “I’m in Venice on a gondola sipping on vino.” Now that’s something worth saving for.
