Night Market-Fishtown

The foodie night owls flocked to the Night Market events last year.  In case you’re new to the area or just been oblivious to The Food Trust’s insanely poplar event, Night Market is food event where the area’s top food trucks gather several times throughout the summer and early fall months at various locations around town.  Where most of these types events take place during the day, Night Market obviously takes place at night between the hours of 6-10 pm.

 

North Philly Block Party

Head north for a neighborhood celebration with Open Source artists Keir Johnston and Ernel Martinez, right next to the artists’ pop-up community bodega space, which explores the intersection of the Latino and African American communities in North Philadelphia. Developed in partnership with our friends at AL DÍA News Media, WXPN, AfroTaino Productions, and Raíces Culturales Latinoamericanas, this afternoon block party is the perfect way to get to know the neighborhood and the people who live there.

Concilio’s Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade is the “Crown Jewel” of the Puerto Rican Festival every year. It is one of the first ethnic parades to ever be televised in Philadelphia. In addition to the hundreds of people gathered on the parkway, the parade continues to offer a live televised portion for an additional 96,000 viewers who tune in for a vibrant display of cultural pride.
